To be honest, the most surprising thing about this online activation from Nike, designed to “take the hassle out of organising football by managing your fixtures and teams”, is that they haven’t done it sooner.

If successful, I guess the next stage of this creative’s evolution is fro Nike to somehow organise the teams who sign up and create a league of their own? It would be the perfect way to get into the grassroots arena, avoiding the usual off-putting activation costs, and adding another reason to advocate the brand which has some previous in this area.

As it stands, it’s got Nike’s own particular seal of authenticity – a bit glossy, yes, but a truthful tone of voice to balance things out – so all that’s left is to stand back and watch how it runs…
